The combination of chocolate protein powder, protein rich peanut butter, and a little bit of sugar free butterscotch pudding mix makes a guilt free shake that tastes exactly like a liquified butterfinger candy bar.

Butterfinger Protein Shake

Some days I’ll mix it with almond milk, some days I mix it with regular milk… either way, it still tastes incredible. In fact, I look forward to my filling breakfast treat every day! Keeps me full until lunch time, which is a definite bonus for this full time food blogger!

I use the Shakeology Chocolate Protein Powder, but I’m sure any chocolate protein powder would give you the same results.

Butterfinger Protein Shake

Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk (any kind will work)
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • 1 scoop chocolate protein powder
  • 1 (large) tbsp peanut butter
  • 1 tbsp sugar free Butterscotch instant pudding mix

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a blender and process until well blended (about 1 minute).
  2. Enjoy right away.

Notes from Shawn

Use more or less water according to your preference. Less water will make it thicker and more will thin it out.

  2. Shawn … Oh, this is so great and I found our protein powder and dust it off. Now, need to make a quick trip to the market to get Butterfingers. Would you believe that we can’t find a Butterfinger anywhere around this ole’ house … :-) But, I do have a question about the instant pudding – what flavor do we use? I’m thinking chocolate, but just not sure. Thank you for the recipe … you are wonderful!

    • Hi Joicio, you’ll want to use the butterscotch pudding mix (I can’t believe I forgot to put that in the recipe, but I updated it just now), and you don’t actually put any butterfingers in the shake, so no need to purchase any of those! Unless, of course, you just want to eat a butterfinger! ;)

  7. Try using slim fast powder. Their chocolate flavor is the best ever

  8. What a great way to use protein powder in a recipe! Chocolate in itself is a flavor straight from heaven and the fact that you have combined it with PB and butterscotch pudding is just tempting me to chug this shake down.
