Classic Broccoli Salad Recipe

I’m just going to come right out and say it…

I’m obsessed with Broccoli Salad. No shame.

The best Classic Broccoli Salad Recipe out there!

I love the sweet and tangy dressing that gets soaked into the crunchy broccoli, the toasted cashews, the plump craisins, and of course… the bacon.

Broccoli Salad is a staple at any BBQ or Potluck type meal, so be prepared this summer with this classic recipe that is a definite crowd pleaser.

BACON!!

You know a recipe is going to be a winner when it starts with bacon.

A rule of thumb when cooking any recipe with bacon is to always, always, ALWAYS add an extra slice or two of bacon. You know darn well that you (or your hungry husband) will have to steal one of those smoky/crispy strips before it goes into the recipe.

It’s written somewhere I’m sure.

The rest is a snap to throw together. I toasted up some cashews, but you can switch it up with some walnuts or sun flower seeds too.

The dressing is a simple 3 ingredient blend: Mayo, white wine vinegar, and sugar.

Easy peasy.

This is so delish! I have to skip the craisins due to sugar issues, but I threw in some carrots and thawed frozen peas. Used sunflower seeds and assed some fresh grated sharp chedder cheese. I was lucky to get some! Thanks!

  7. I found this recipe in a junior league cookbook years ago. It called for dried cherries and sunflower seeds. I always add double bacon because you can’t go wrong with more bacon. It was one if the few dishes I made that my youngest step dsughter actually said she liked.

  8. Craisins are high sugar, and then adding more sugar makes this version unacceptable for me, but basically it is a salad that I make often without those two ingredients. A little bit of sugar isn’t too bad, but this wonderful salad does not need it. Lots of other add ins can work. I have taken it to gatherings, and people always want the recipe.
