Chocolate Covered Peanut Butter Pretzel Bites

I’d like to take a minute and thank TLC for helping me to teach my children very important life lessons.

Chocolate Covered Peanut Butter Pretzel Bites

The other day my kids and I were watching a cute show on TLC, then it ended and Hoarders began. It was like watching a train wreck. All of us sat there with our jaws in our laps, and a lightbulb went on in my head.

I took this opportunity to teach my children a valuable lesson. If they don’t pick up their toys, they will end up with a house filled with trash, roaches, and smelling like a dumpster when they grow up. Extreme? Maybe. Effective? Definitely.

After three hours of watching people who can’t part with so much as a gum wrapper, I started to notice a trend. If you pay close attention to the items piled high in these hoarder’s houses, you’ll notice it too.

Target bags.

I’m all for Target {don’t get me started on their clearance section}. But have you ever noticed that you end up walking out of there with more items then you intended on buying? I’m on to you, Target… and so are my kids.

Once Hoarders ended, My Strange Addiction started.

What the WHAT!?!?!

All I can say, is that there are some really crazy peeps out there. The first segment of the show was all about an older man and his strange creepy addiction to balloons. Um, yeah… I’m pretty sure my kids are over them. After our last balloon saga, all I can say is…

Thank you TLC!

In other news, I’ve decided it’s perfectly ok to reward yourself with a little treat when your living room floor is not buried under 3 feet of trash and Target bags filled with clearance items.

If you’re going to make a treat you might as well make these Chocolate Covered Peanut Butter Pretzel Bites. These are ultra addicting so be prepared to hoard them for yourself…

Chocolate Covered Peanut Butter Pretzel Bites

These Chocolate Covered Peanut Butter Bites are loaded with irresistible layers: Salty and crunchy pretzels, light and fluffy peanut butter filling, rich chocolate, and a little touch of sea salt to boost all the flavors to the next level.

The best part? These little guys are quick and easy to make!

Chocolate Covered Peanut Butter Pretzel Bites

Ingredients

  • 50 or more small twisty pretzels
  • 3/4 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp melted butter
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 4 oz Chocolate Almond Bark
  • Coarse Sea Salt

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, use an electric mixer to combine the peanut butter, melted butter, powdered sugar and vanilla until incorporated and mixture is crumbly.
  2. Lay out all the pretzels on a large piece of parchment paper. Take about 1/2 tsp of the peanut butter mixture and roll it into a ball. Place it on top of the pretzel. Repeat until finished (you can save any extra filling in plastic wrap in the freezer for later).
  3. Use your finger to gently press the peanut butter mixture into the pretzel, making it slightly flat on top.
  4. Melt the chocolate almond bark according to package instructions. Spoon the melted chocolate on top until it runs down the sides. Sprinkle with a tiny bit of coarse sea salt and let dry until firm.
  5. Store at room temperature in an airtight container. Enjoy!

  7. These are so stinkin’ cute and dangerous all at the same time! That’s my #1 favorite flavor combo!! My Strange Addiction is, just..WOW. I think nothing beats the one I saw a few nights ago {I hardly ever watch TLC…only on rare occasions}. This 29 year old woman drank animal and human blood. Yeah. She just didn’t like taking blood from a humans neck because that’s ‘too cliche’. No idea how she gets the animal blood. SICK.

I’m still not repulsed again….I would eat these cutie pretzel bites right now. :)

  8. Very sweet and could be very tempting even for adults. Would prepare this for Easter and hide some more in the fridge so I can have my afternoon sugar rush! Tell us more sugary concoctions for Easter that’s great for kids!

  9. I’m a huge fan of topping things with seas salt these days, and of course I am always on board for anything peanut butter and chocolate!

  10. First I have to say thank you for posting all these wonderful recipes!! I am going to make these pretzels this week! Also I have watched that balloon episode and I think that I am a little frightened!! LOL I guess TLC shows us that there is all sorts of people out there right!! LOL

  11. where do i find chocolate almond bark? I must make these for a party this weekend!!!!!!

    • You can find Almond Bark in the baking isle, next to all the baking chocolates. You can even use regular chocolate that has been melted down, but I prefer almond bark because it’s easy to melt and tastes great with this recipe. :) Enjoy these and your party!

  12. Good day I am so thrilled I found your webpage, I really found you
by mistake, while I was browsing on Askjeeve for something else, Anyhow I am here now and would just like to
say thanks for a fantastic post and a all round interesting
blog (I also love the theme/design), I don’t have time to
read it all at the minute but I have bookmarked it and also added
in your RSS feeds, so when I have time I will be back to read more, Please do keep up the great job.

  13. The minimum recommended amount is 2 of the 29 oz
tubes per 4. With industries and commercial properties cropping up fast, it is becoming difficult to find exclusive areas to build our homes or offices.
This will substantially advance your pleasure when utilizing your shedsafe particularly if you are in a loud neighborhood; the disturbance
could be from traffic, airplanes, children, shops, etc.
