Iron Foodie Contest

Iron Foodie 2010 | Here's Why that will be me:
MarxFoods.com -- Fine Bulk Foods The Foodie BlogRoll

Here’s the deal folks; there is this contest going on over at Foodie Blog Roll. They teamed up with Marx Foods to create this fun challenge where 25 contestants will get the opportunity to make a unique dish with only 3 ingredients! The kicker is…they are secret ingredients that you wont know what they are until they are shipped to your house! Talk about intense!

I want to be one of those contestants so they asked me to answer a few questions for them.

1. Why do you want to compete in this challenge? I am always up for a challenge, and ready to push my skills in the kitchen to the max. Not only does creating my own signature dish sound fun and exciting, but using foods from Marx Foods looks like it would be an adventure on it’s own! {The $200 store credit grand prize is also a plus}

2. Limitations of time/space notwithstanding, whose kitchen would you like to spend the day in & why?  I don’t want to sound too nostalgic, but even if I could spend the day with anyone in the world, I would want to spend it with my Grandmother. As a child I remember watching in awe as she would whip up the most amazing meals. Her knowledge of all things in the kitchen make me want to pick her brain all day long.

3. What morsel are you most likely to swipe from family & friends’ plates when they aren’t looking? Oh this is a loaded question! Seeing as now most of my family and friends will be reading this, and will be on guard from now on {no fair!}.  I would most likely swipe a bite of the crisp and sweet cheesecake crust. Doesn’t matter the type of cheesecake, I just love that crust!

4. Sum your childhood up in one meal. Macaroni and Cheese. {laughing on the inside} I remember endless summer days in Arizona when my lovely sister would make us all macaroni and cheese…day after day after day… Even now I find it hard to eat the dish, let alone serve it to my own children. Sometimes I wonder if my kids are missing out on a childhood staple?

5.  The one mainstream food you can’t stand? If I had to pick just one, I would have to say Mayo. I substitute the wiggly stuff at every chance I can with sour cream or yogurt. The Man on the other hand seems to eat it by the spoonful… yuck!

So that’s it! If they like what they see, then I will get chosen to be one of the top 25, and yours truly will be creating a unique dish that will be featured right back here for you to vote on!!

Cross your fingers they chose me!
